The Department of Community Development (DCD) has made a video conference call with representatives of Abu Dhabi’s communities to inquire about their condition within the current situation and ensure their safety. This comes as DCD efforts to strengthen collaboration and its relationship and spread the positivity to everyone across Abu Dhabi; as DCD role is to regulate the non-profit sector in Abu Dhabi, which includes Organizations for the Private Benefits, and Organizations for the Public Benefits.

H.E. Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Community Engagement and Sports at DCD, stated that DCD ensured to contact all Social & Sports clubs in Abu Dhabi, and maintained our relationship and to promote the community cohesion by achieving our vision to provide a dignified life for everyone who calls Abu Dhabi home, in a safe and secured environment.

Al Dhaheri added, these clubs are an essential platform for residents in Abu Dhabi. He praised the cooperation, and what we witnessed from their efforts and support and responsibilities undertaken to combat the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19), reflects their appreciation to the UAE, to maintain safety, healthy community.

Al Dhaheri extended his heartfelt thanks for those entrusted with the management of communities for their support with spreading the safety messages sent out to them, praising their adherence to applicable legislation. He said that this cohesion is proof that they are an active part of our community in which we all complement one another to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone.

Communities’ representatives expressed their gratitude for the official efforts exerted by DCD, in caring for all society members. During the video conference call, they reiterated that the home is united with all the nationalities in Abu Dhabi. They added that everyone is concerned with maintaining the community’s safety and following instructions, praising the DCD’s efforts in maintaining constant communication with non-profit clubs and associations.

DCD had organised several conferences with a large number of representatives from communities, associations and clubs to share recommendations, safety-related messages and suggestions for family activities inside homes. DCD also spoke with specialised experts and consultants to review the best practices and experiences in adjusting to the current situation.
