H.E Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development , confirmed the 13th edition of the Indian Premier Cricket League will be hosted by Abu Dhabi, which is considered and important step in promoting rapprochement between the two countries, sports is considered a global language and a message of love and communication between the people and global societies.

H.E added that the UAE and Abu Dhabi chose to host this event in particular after the postponement of the sports season in India due to the global pandemic of Coronavirus is a success for the sports infrastructure, facilities, teamwork readiness and the concerned authorities. The UAE was able to manage and overcome the current crisis conditions with high capabilities and move forward with steady health and safety precautionary measures to ensure life continuity, including sports.

H.E explained that the sector plays a fundamental role in organizing community clubs and sports institutions, and we in the Department of Community Development are looking forward to building a tolerant and incubating community for all its segments, as well as activating  the role community members, induce happiness and security, in addition to providing a respectful and active life,  to create a cohesive community based on tolerance and mutual respect.

He explained, all sports are welcome in the community of Abu Dhabi, in order for us to create an active and responsible community by engaging the individuals in participation and creating a culture of physical health. Indians in the UAE constitute the largest part of the population of the country, and most of the Indian community prefer Cricket as their main sport.
