The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) successfully concluded its participation in the 5th Abu Dhabi Family Forum, held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation. The Department engaged numerous visitors through several interactive activations centered on the Emirati Family Growth Program ‘Numou’, celebrating family bonds and encouraging sustainable growth.

Organized by the Family Development Foundation in collaboration with the H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Excellence and Community Intelligence Program, the event, themed “The Family: Home and Stability”, took place from 12 to 23 December 2025 at Al Bahya Square, Abu Dhabi.

DCD’s ‘Numou’ activations, underscoring the program’s message of family growth, welcomed over 300 parents and children. Activations notably featured the “Carry What You Grow” experience, where guests designed personalized keychains using Numou-inspired tokens and word charms, creating a meaningful keepsake reflecting the family’s commitment to growth and family cohesion enhancement.

Activities also encompassed the “Build Your Family Garden Mini Kit” activation that encouraged families to nurture plants together, via a powerful messaging and a pouch containing a seed packet and an instruction card, reminding families that they grow like a garden, with attention, love, and time. Guests also took part, in pairs, in the “Draw Each Other & Reveal – The Portrait Connection Corner”, where they created playful sketches of one another, fostering moments of connection between them in a cheerful ambiance.

Through “The Story We Grow” installation, family members received personalized messages highlighting each of their contributions to nurturing a flourishing, thriving, and stable household.

At the end of the forum, H.E. Dr. Mona Al Mansoori, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority and the Executive Director of the ‘Medeem’ Initiative, stated: “We are delighted by the attendance and positive interaction of over 300 visitors with our ‘Numou’ activations at the 5th Abu Dhabi Family Forum. These activations contributed to bringing the values of ‘Numou’ to life, celebrated the joy of family growth, and furthered our commitment to supporting families in innovative ways, namely as we prepare to welcome the Year of the Family 2026.”

DCD remains committed to empowering Emirati families through the ‘Numou’ program and invites all community members to discover our services and support ecosystem. For more information, visit medeem.gov.ae, or follow @medeem_ae and @dcdabudhabi on Instagram.
