H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi (DCD) said that the UAE marches ahead in unity on its 49th year and approaches the 50th union anniversary, amidst challenging circumstances brought about by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic this year. He added that the country continuously shows the world that it can achieve the impossible through hard work, diligence, creativity and the ambitions to create a more prosperous future.
Commenting on the occasion of the UAE National Day 2020, H.E. Dr. Al Khaili stated: “As days and years pass by, we remember the seeds of the union instilled by the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had a far-reaching vision of the future where families are united in creating a cohesive society. We will continue to preserve the fruits of these seeds instilled in us and work on achieving more accomplishments that meet our leadership’s vision to provide a decent life for all community members.”
Al Khaili extended his congratulations to H.H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and their brothers, the Members of the Supreme Council; as well as the Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers on this occasion.
“Today, we renew our promise to the leadership and the nation to continue in our tireless efforts to achieve milestones in maintaining the country’s unity,” he stated.
The DCD Chairman concluded: “For 49 years ago, we have lived in prosperity and well-being and have been praying for the lasting glory of our homeland. We are proud of the successes and achievements that have been attained while also being determined to achieve more accomplishments and raise the nation’s flag high in the international stage. From the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, we are committed to keep working to achieve the society’s aspirations together with our partners in the social sector, and always provide support to the emirate’s citizens and residents.”
